I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist in New York, practicing via Telemedicine and accepting new patients residing in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. I did my psychiatric training at The University of the State of New York.

Psychiatric symptoms/disorders are often complex and are usually influenced by genetic factors, environmental/social stimuli, and personal experience. I do a comprehensive initial assessment to determine the need for medications and if medications are indicated, I carefully consider the risk-benefit alternatives of medications.

Mark Zimmermann, LCSW

Psychotherapist

Psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R), & addictions specialist providing therapeutic individual psychotherapy services & counseling serving diverse populations in the New York area. For me, psychotherapy is the practice of assisting patients to get at what they truly want out of life. Please note that for the duration of the current nationwide medical emergency, it will be possible to meet together for video teleconferencing or through telephone sessions.

I think creating positive change for people is a completely realistic, do-able goal, regardless of your age or the obstacles life has presented to you; or whether or not you’ve told yourself, ‘I can’t help the way I am.

I provide psychotherapy for a broad spectrum of emotional & psychiatric issues. Additionally, I bring many years experience working with addicted people and members of the 12 Step Community.

As a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am trained to utilize medication management to treat mental health disorders in a supportive and compassionate environment. I work with individuals to identify safe and appropriate approaches that align with their preferences and goals of treatment. I believe in transparent communication and collaboration so that every patient feels heard and empowered.

After working with many different populations, I have come to adopt a comprehensive, patient-focused, and evidence-based treatment approach rooted in interdisciplinary care. I believe this holistic and multi-modal framework is particularly well suited for helping patients achieve diverse health goals.

I personally provide comprehensive evaluations and collaborative treatment planning for every new patient, with an eye toward integrating psychotherapy and pharmacologic modalities as appropriate. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your particular needs.

I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner as well as a licensed psychologist. I work with clients who live in New York State, are between the ages of 18 and 60, and are considering medication to help them manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, or traumatic stress. I work remotely (only) which means appointments that easily mesh with your current schedule and lifestyle.

Medication can be very helpful in reducing/eliminating your symptoms but other factors play a role in your mental health as well. To that end, I also stress the importance of sleep, nutrition, exercise, healthy relationships, healthy thinking habits, and therapy (if needed) among other factors, and yes, it’s OK if you only want to focus on medication.
